Jon Reck and Bob Cauchy established Excel Press in 1986. Shortly afterwards, Bob left and JoAnn Martin became the new partner. Working with only a single press, we started doing work that included "high end" hot stamping and embossing, which helped Excel gain a foothold in the specialty printing industry. Eventually, the business expanded into more utilitarian pieces such as die cutting and pocket folders. Customers enjoyed working with Excel because of the one on one relationship that they formed with the employees at the shop. People appreciated the high quality of work that came out of Excel, and found the environment to be responsive to their needs. Due to this appreciation, Excel Press was able to expand into the industry leader it has now become.
Excel Press, Inc. continues to flourish, and we have developed considerably in the twenty years since opening. From that time until now, Excel has expanded significantly and we presently own four Kluges, two Heidelberg cylinder presses, one Kensol, one Challenge trimmer, and a Haskins Kluge gluer. The excellent quality of our work continues to grow, and we persevere in upholding the high standards that set us apart from other specialty shops. Excel remains as dedicated as ever to the needs of our customers.
